LAKE
Place, movement and reflection.
The lake gives the identity its horizon, its rhythm and its reason to exist in Muskoka. Waterlines become rings. Ripples become structure. Navigation becomes invitation.
THE GILDED PADDLE · BRAND PACKAGE
A northern hospitality identity shaped by water, flame, craft and the ritual of gathering.
Crafted by the lake. Gathered around the fire.
01 · Fire and lake
Lake gives the brand place, movement and reflection. Fire gives it craft, warmth and transformation. The paddle is the axis that connects them, and brass is the light they share.
LAKE
The lake gives the identity its horizon, its rhythm and its reason to exist in Muskoka. Waterlines become rings. Ripples become structure. Navigation becomes invitation.
FIRE
Fire is the kitchen, the brewery, the garden and the moment people stay longer than they planned. It turns ingredients into flavour and a property into a gathering place.
THE GILDED PADDLE
The vertical paddle is the travelling axis between lake and fire. Brass captures both moonlight and ember light. The G and P sit on either side of that axis, held by a compass-like ring.
02 · Why the name works
The name is not decorative. One word carries the light, the other carries the movement, and the emblem holds both.
The shared light.
Gilded is care, transformation and elevated craft — never luxury for its own sake. It is the brass on a carved sign at dusk, the moonlight on open water and the ember light off a low fire. One metal reads warm at both ends of the day, which is precisely why the accent can hold a day identity and a night identity together.
The movement.
Paddle is travel, navigation and the lake ritual of setting out and coming back. It is the vertical axis of the emblem, the thing that stands upright between the rings, and the shape that repeats through the graphic system as a line, a divider and a menu marker.
03 · THE MARK
The emblem combines navigation, waterlines and a central paddle. The split G/P monogram creates a memory device that can step down from a full lockup to a small icon without becoming another logo.
04 · Logo system
Every file below is a master from the cut logo kit. The system steps down from a full signature to a bottle-cap emblem without ever becoming a second logo.
05 · Colour and type
Fraunces carries editorial warmth, flavour names and narrative headlines. Manrope carries interface, specifications, labels and body copy.
Gilded Brass on Warm Cream measures 2.29:1. In day mode it is a finish — emblem, rule and flourish — never body copy, never an icon carrying state and never a focus ring. On a dark field it measures 7.29:1 and becomes the interactive colour.
| Mode | Ground | Ink | Accent | Brass | Contrast |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day | Warm Cream | Deep Lake Navy | Muskoka Pine | Emblem, rules and flourishes only | 15.29:1 |
| Night | Deep Lake Navy | Soft Cream | Gilded Brass | Interactive colour, borders and focus | 15.85:1 |

06 · Pattern laboratory
Patterns support surfaces. They never compete with the mark, and they never carry meaning on their own.
07 · The Brewing Co.
One family, told through colour and pattern rather than five different identities. Day-oriented products take cream, lake blue and pine; night-oriented products take navy, copper and ember.

Product names are provisional pending trademark and market review. Strength, volume, ingredients, regulatory copy and production packaging require final approval before publication or manufacture.
08 · Applications
One material language across signage, service, packaging, stationery and uniforms. Every image below is a concept: nothing here has been manufactured, and each carries the review it still needs.
Composited, not generated. Each object was photographed with its label, panel or garment deliberately blank, and the approved vector master was then seated into it — warped to the object’s own perspective, graded to its light, and carrying its grain. A generated mark is an approximation of the logo, and an approximation of the logo is a different logo.

Concept application. The name cut in relief into the planed face of the shoreline log, the paddle inlaid in solid brass beside it, and a concealed 2700K uplight washing the carving from below.
Requires production, structural, accessibility and permit review before fabrication.
Concept application. A navy blade sign and a directional arm on the garden path, with low path markers between them.
Mounting heights and legibility require AODA review.
Concept application. Menu cover in gold foil, coasters carrying the Standard-tier stamp that coaster print requires, and the emblem at Micro tier on the napkin band.
Food-contact, wash durability and dishwasher-safe decoration require confirmation. The plate is deliberately unmarked until they are.
Concept application. Carrier, gift box and takeaway packaging sharing one structural grid and one emblem — the centre-stacked lockup on the carrier, the horizontal on the band and the box.
Not a production dieline. Trademark, regulatory, volume, allergen and deposit marking all require review; the regulatory area stays empty until then.
Concept application. The horizontal lockup foiled on navy and letterpressed on cream — one lockup, two approved colourways, no second identity.
All contact details, values and codes are placeholders.
Concept application. Letterhead, envelope and compliment slip on a table by the fire.

Concept application. The emblem at Micro tier — no letterforms, no bezel — because embroidery is a Micro-tier process. The process chooses the geometry, not the garment.
Embroidery limits and stitch tests are unconfirmed; the Micro tier awaits a physical proof (A4).
